January Stuff

As usual, life with the Leslies in January is fairly uneventful. A lot of long, cold days of staying inside trying to keep ourselves entertained. So here's a few of the highlights from the month.

On one Friday evening, Ross went with a friend/coworker to a Utah Jazz basketball game. So I took the kids out for our own evening of fun. We went to Del Taco (Leah's favorite) for dinner and playing on the indoor playground. Then we went to The Disney Store so the kids could spend their Christmas gift cards from my parents. Leah picked out this Queen Elsa t-shirt and this little doll (Isabella, from Phineas and Ferb).  Corbin got a Mickey Mouse dump truck that you can put together and take apart with a little toy screw driver. Leah has taken it apart and put it back together a countless number of times. She has definitely enjoyed it more than him so far. After The Disney Store, we stopped by Cold Stone Creamery for some yummy ice cream. Overall, a fun but exhausting evening. 

On another Friday night, we went to my cousin, DeDe's house to play games. DeDe and her little family live only about a half hour from us, yet we hardly ever see them. So we decided it was time for a get-together. DeDe's siblings, Kim and Tyson came with their families. So we ended up with a small crowd. After pizza for dinner, the adults enjoyed playing some games together despite the kids running in and out of the room all night. Leah was a little unsure about playing with the kids at first because she didn't know them as well as her own cousins. But after she warmed up to them, she had a great time and didn't want to leave. Here she is playing dress up with Tyson and DeDe's daughters.

One of the few redeeming things that makes January bearable is that BYU Men's Volleyball is back in action. I love to go to the games and luckily Ross does too. So we took the kids and went one night in January. This was Corbin's first volleyball match. I'm not sure just how much of it he watched (if any at all). He was tired, but didn't want to fall asleep. Either Ross or I was standing in the back with him most of the match. But at least we were there. Leah, on the other hand, was able to fall asleep without much problem! These silly kids had things a bit mixed up!

So there it is...January! Blah! So glad it is done for another year.
