Valentine's season was fun this year because Leah understood things a little better and it was fun to share in her excitement. We got Mickey Mouse Clubhouse valentines and some suckers at the store that she could give to some of her friends and cousins. She even helped me write their names on them and seal them up. And she was so excited to hand them out.
The day before Valentine's Day, our wonderful neighbor hosted a Valentines themed play date. The kids had fun playing together and especially enjoyed decorating the heart-shaped sugar cookies.
On Valentine's Day, we ate dinner at home and then went out as a family to get some ice cream. We went to a fun self-serve shop called Farr's where we could each choose the amount of ice cream and toppings we want and then just pay by the ounce. This is a great choice for our family because Ross doesn't like a lot of ice cream and I can't eat a lot right now. Plus, kids eat free on Thursdays! So we could all get exactly what we wanted for a good price.
On Friday, we took Leah to hang out with her Grandma Leslie while Ross and I enjoyed a night out. We decided to go see Pleasant Grove High School's production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast (the Broadway version). Both of us really enjoyed the show and were quite impressed with the quality of the performance. The costumes, special effects, and scenery were fabulous. And the cast did a great job singing the songs. They even had an orchestra pit performing all the music live. It was hard to believe that it was only a high school level production.
