A Weekend with the Leslies

Ross's brother, Kyle, came into town for the weekend so that they could celebrate his and Jackson's birthdays. So while he was here, we decided to do a bunch of fun things together. For our first outing we took a trip to a pumpkin patch. We went to this patch with the Leslies a couple years ago too. This patch is probably my favorite around here. It has a little corn maze, animals, a playground, and some other fun, festive things to look at. 

I didn't have my camera while we were in the corn maze, so I didn't get any pictures. But the kids had a fun time. Leah and Jackson ran all round with Amy trying to find all the hidden rooms. And even Corbin had fun running around when I got tired of carrying him on my shoulders. 

At the end of the corn maze, they had these pictures where the kids could stick their heads through the holes. Too bad all the rest of the cousins were already through the maze, so we didn't get any group shots of them all together. 

Corbin really enjoys seeing animals. He spent a lot of time watching the chickens run around.

Grandma Leslie likes to get pumpkins for everyone. So we spent some time picking out just the right pumpkins to take home for carving. I love these pictures I got of the kids with the giant pumpkins they had on display.

After the others left, we stayed a little longer so that our kids could play on the playground. They loved it. And the weather that day was so great, it was easy to enjoy being outside for so long.

We saw this blow up Pirate Mickey inside their store and had to get a picture with him. Leah thought this was especially great because the newest episode of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, "Mickey's Pirate Adventure" had just come out and she loves it.

On Sunday, we went to Ross's mom's house for Sunday dinner and then stayed the night so that we could join some of the other family members for a day trip to Logan. 

On the way up we stopped at the newly rededicated, Ogden City Temple. None of us had see it before. The temple was closed because it was a Monday, but we could still walk around the grounds. The kids especially loved playing around the fountain. 

The flower beds were beautiful! We especially liked these vibrant red flowers. The grounds keepers were actually digging up some of the flower beds to make room for new flowers. So they let us take some of the flowers home to plant in our own yards. I picked out some purple ones I really liked. Here's hoping they come back next year like they told us they would.

Next we stopped at the Logan Temple. This is the temple where Ross's parents were married. So it is a special place for their family. Here's a picture of all the grand kids that were there for the trip.

Corbin loved being in the tree like William. 

After getting some lunch, we went over to the little zoo in Logan. Corbin enjoyed seeing all the animals. The ducks were his very favorite. Whenever he saw some ducks, he made his little quacking sound right along with them.

Leah had a harder time enjoying the zoo. She was feeling tired and didn't like that no one would carry her all over the zoo. Mostly she just enjoyed playing with her cousins.

After the zoo, it was time for a trip over to the cheese factory. Leslies LOVE to eat cheese! We all enjoyed trying the samples and then got some flavored milk and cheese curd to take home. We also enjoyed some yummy ice cream cones. Leah enjoyed hers so much, she had it all over her face.

On the way home, we stopped in Brigham City to see their new temple too. None of us had seen that one either. Too bad the gates were closed and we couldn't get very close to it.

By this time, both our kids were pretty tired. Leah was less than amused to be walking around. She just wanted to be asleep. Corbin was okay because he was asleep.

Here's our flowers from the Ogden Temple planted in our front yard. They were a little dried out and wilted from being in a trunk all day. But hopefully they will come back next year and look as good as they did in front of the temple.

All and all, it was a great weekend spent with some our Leslie family. We got to do lots of fun things and go to some fun places. But most importantly, we got to do it with some really great people!!
