Leah's First Dance Recital

On Thursday, December 19th Leah had her first dance recital. The day was somewhat stormy and the icy roads made getting to the recital a little more eventful than I would have liked. But despite that, the night went well.

Leah is such a great little dancer already. I was worried that she would get nervous about dancing on the stage once she saw all the people. However, she wasn't nervous at all and did a great job. She followed her teacher and did all the steps. Ross and I were both so proud of her!

Leah has been taking dance with her best friend, Millie, and her cousin, Kylie. She has had so much fun being able to dance with them. Here's a couple pictures of them backstage.
Leah's class did two dances. The first was a tap dance to the song "Happy Tappin with Elmo." And then a ballet dance to "O Christmas Tree."

Leah's teacher, Brianne, is a girl that my sister, Lyndsee, danced with when she was growing up. And this is Brianne's first year with her own studio. So there weren't very many classes and once the program started, it was over fairly quickly. Not everyone did, but we stayed until the end and Leah got to go back up on stage for a finale (for the finale the girls just got back on stage and danced around while we all clapped for them again). Here's a picture of her on stage with all the other girls at the end. She's right in the middle of the girls in the pink tutus.
Here are some of the adoring fans who came to see her dance. Leah was so excited to have her Grandpa and cousins there. My mom and sisters were there too, but Leah was most excited that Grandpa came.
Here's Leah and "Teacher Brianne." Leah adores Brianne and loves to give her hugs after class. I'm so glad that Lyndsee told us about Brianne teaching dance lessons. She has been great to work with and does such a great job with Leah. Hopefully Leah's love of dancing will continue for a while. She has a great talent for it and I'd love to see her get better. Only time will tell, I guess.
